Alexandre Vauthier
Alexandre Vauthier is a French luxury fashion house founded by the eponymous designer in 2002. Born in the town of Aix-en-Provence, Vauthier developed an early interest in fashion, leading him to pursue studies at the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris.
Vauthier's career began in the ateliers of Thierry Mugler and Jean-Paul Gaultier, where he honed his skills in haute couture. In 2000, he joined the house of Thierry Mugler as the head designer for the prêt-à-porter and haute couture collections. After Mugler's departure in 2002, Vauthier took over as the artistic director for the haute couture line until 2004.
In 2002, Vauthier established his own brand, focusing on haute couture and prêt-à-porter collections for women. His designs are characterized by their precision, strictness, and French influence, reflecting his close-to-heart nature and dedication to craftsmanship. Vauthier's work is often inspired by his travels, art, and music, resulting in collections that are both modern and timeless.
The brand has gained recognition for its daring and sophisticated designs, often featuring bold cuts, intricate embellishments, and innovative fabrics. Vauthier's creations have been worn by numerous celebrities, including Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Cate Blanchett, solidifying his reputation as a go-to designer for red-carpet events.
In 2014, Vauthier was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, a prestigious French honor recognizing his contributions to the arts and literature. The following year, he was invited to become a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, further cementing his position in the world of high fashion.
