Kiton
Kiton is a renowned Italian luxury menswear brand, founded in 1968 by Ciro Paone and Antonio Carola in Naples. The name "Kiton" is derived from "chitone," an ancient Greek ceremonial tunic, signifying the company's dedication to classic elegance and timeless style. Ciro Paone, the mastermind behind the brand, hailed from a family steeped in the tradition of fabric merchants, a legacy that deeply influenced his approach to craftsmanship.
From its inception, Kiton established itself as a purveyor of the highest-quality tailored garments, emphasizing meticulous handcraftsmanship. Each suit is a masterpiece, requiring approximately 25 to 30 hours of labor by a team of skilled tailors. The brand operates its own fabric mill in Biella, which has been producing exclusive textiles since 1995, ensuring complete control over the quality and uniqueness of its materials.
Kiton's headquarters are situated in Arzano, near Naples, in a state-of-the-art facility. Here, more than 350 artisans engage in the painstaking process of creating Kiton's collections, including tailoring, cutting, and stitching, reflecting the brand's commitment to preserving traditional Neapolitan tailoring techniques. Kiton also runs a tailoring school, the Scuola di Alta Sartoria, where young apprentices are trained rigorously, securing the future of the craft.
Expanding its reach globally, Kiton opened its first international store in 1986 in Munich, Germany. Since then, it has established a presence in major fashion capitals, including New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo. Despite its global expansion, Kiton remains true to its roots, maintaining small-scale production to uphold the exclusivity and quality that define the brand.
Kiton has ventured into women's wear, casual clothing, and accessories, always maintaining its core principles of craftsmanship and quality.
