Grieb & Benzinger
Grieb & Benzinger is a distinguished German watchmaking atelier renowned for its dedication to traditional craftsmanship, especially in the realm of bespoke timepieces. Established by highly skilled artisans Hermann Grieb and Jochen Benzinger, the brand has carved a niche for itself within the horological community, offering exceedingly rare and meticulously handcrafted watches.
Jochen Benzinger, a master engraver and guilloché artist, and Hermann Grieb, a technical watchmaker with a predilection for antique movements, combined their talents to create exceptional timepieces that are as unique as they are intricate. The foundation of their collaboration dates back to the early 2000s, when their shared passion for vintage pocket watches and historical movements naturally led to the birth of their joint venture.
One of the distinctive features of Grieb & Benzinger watches is the painstaking hand-skeletonization, engraving, and guilloché work performed by Jochen Benzinger. His workshop, equipped with antique machines, is reminiscent of the 19th century, allowing him to employ techniques that have all but disappeared in modern watchmaking. Each piece undergoes extensive manual labor, often exceeding hundreds of hours, to transform raw movements and materials into wearable art.
A hallmark achievement in their timeline is the restoration and customization of movements from revered Swiss brands such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet. By breathing new life into these historical movements, Grieb & Benzinger ensures that the traditions of classical watchmaking endure in each of their pieces.
The brand’s portfolio includes the “Blue Sensation,” a watch that stands out for its remarkable blue platinum-coated movement, and the "Pharos" model, featuring a breathtaking blue sapphire set in the crown.
