Vianney Halter, a distinguished name in the realm of haute horlogerie, has consistently captivated watch enthusiasts and collectors with its unique avant-garde designs and exceptional craftsmanship. Born in 1963 in Sannois, France, Halter developed a profound interest in watchmaking at an early age, later attending the Ecole Horlogère de Paris. Upon completing his education in 1981, he honed his skills in restoration, working on antique clocks and pocket watches, thereby acquiring a deep understanding of traditional horological techniques.

In 1994, after years of refining his craft, Halter founded his own brand, establishing Janvier SA in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland. Named after French clockmaker Antide Janvier, a key influence on Halter's work, the company allowed Halter the creative freedom to innovate freely. His debut model, the Antiqua, released in 1998, was met with critical acclaim. This steampunk-inspired piece, characterized by its multi-dial display and futuristic aesthetic, set the tone for the brand's distinctive style, blending history with forward-thinking design.

Halter's dedication to originality and artistic expression was further highlighted with the introduction of the Trio Grande Date, released in 2000.
