Winch Design
Winch Design, an internationally acclaimed design studio, has left an indelible mark on the realms of yacht, aviation, and architecture design since its inception in 1986. Founded by Andrew Winch, the London-based studio swiftly ascended to prominence, renowned for its exquisite custom designs that seamlessly fuse luxury with innovation.
The journey began with Andrew Winch's vision to transform the world of yacht design. A graduate of the Central School of Art and Design, he quickly established himself in the industry, thanks to his unique blend of artistic talent and technical prowess. It was this combination that set Winch Design apart from contemporaries and laid the foundations for its future success.
One of the studio’s early milestones was the creation of Taramber, Winch Design's first comprehensive yacht project. Launched in 1989, this motor yacht epitomized the studio's commitment to luxurious craftsmanship and attention to detail. Taramber's success led to a multitude of commissions from discerning clients worldwide, establishing Winch Design as a forerunner in yacht design.
Diversification came naturally to the studio as it ventured into aviation design, applying the same principles of luxury and bespoke craftsmanship to private jet interiors. This move expanded the firm's portfolio and consolidated its reputation as a versatile design powerhouse. In 1996, the studio achieved another landmark with the interior design of a Boeing 747-400, marking its prowess on a global scale.
Architecture became the third pillar of Winch Design's expertise, embracing residential and commercial projects with the same dedication to bespoke elegance. A notable project was Princess Tower in London, completed in 2010, which showcased the studio’s capability to translate its artistic vision into architectural marvels.
