RSHP
RSHP (Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners) is a world-renowned architecture firm based in London, which has made a significant impact on contemporary architecture since its inception. Originally founded in 1977 by Richard Rogers and Marco Goldschmied as the Richard Rogers Partnership, the practice underwent subsequent rebranding in 2007 to reflect the growing influence of its senior collaborators, Graham Stirk and Ivan Harbour.
RSHP solidified its legacy as a pioneer in high-tech architecture, a movement characterized by its bold exposure of structural elements and the integration of technology into design. Among its most iconic works is the Lloyd’s Building in London, often referred to as the Inside-Out Building, which exemplifies RSHP's hallmark approach of moving services such as lifts, pipes, and staircases to the exterior, freeing up the internal spaces.
Another landmark project was the Centre Pompidou in Paris, completed in conjunction with Italian architect Renzo Piano in 1977. The building’s radical approach, with its vivid use of color and exposed infrastructure, became an emblem of modern architectural expression and catapulted the firm to global recognition.
RSHP is not only known for its inventive design solutions but also for its commitment to social and environmental sustainability. The firm's works incorporate innovative strategies to improve energy efficiency and contribute to public space, with notable projects such as The Leadenhall Building in London and Terminal 4 at Madrid-Barajas Airport.
