H. Moser & Cie
H. Moser & Cie. is a Swiss watchmaking company founded in 1828 by Heinrich Moser in the town of Schaffhausen, Switzerland. For almost two centuries, the company has specialized in producing luxury mechanical watches, renowned for their precision and craftsmanship.
Heinrich Moser initially made a name for himself by establishing a watch factory in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he supplied high-quality timepieces to the Russian aristocracy, including members of the Imperial Court. Moser's reputation for excellence soon spread across Europe, cementing his status as a premier watchmaker.
In the mid-19th century, Moser expanded his operations by returning to his hometown, Schaffhausen, where he built a hydroelectric dam on the River Rhine. This innovative project provided the power needed for local industries, including his own watchmaking facility. Moser's efforts contributed significantly to the development of Schaffhausen as an industrial hub.
Throughout the 20th century, H. Moser & Cie. continued to produce exceptional timepieces, although the company faced numerous challenges, including economic downturns and shifts in the watch industry. In 1979, the brand ceased operations, folding into the Dixi Mechanique Group.
Revived in 2002 by the Moser family, now under the ownership of the Meylan family since 2012, the brand has experienced a renaissance. Known for its minimalist designs, innovative complications, and in-house movements, H. Moser & Cie. has reclaimed its position in the luxury watch market.
One of the brand's notable creations is the Moser Perpetual 1, a perpetual calendar watch with an intuitive, clean display. Another is the Endeavour Center Seconds Concept, which exemplifies the brand's dedication to simplicity by featuring a dial devoid of indices or logos.
