Biondi Santi, an illustrious name in the world of wines, traces its roots back to 1885 when Ferruccio Biondi Santi became a pivotal figure in the creation and promotion of Brunello di Montalcino. Ferruccio, originally a pharmacist, inherited the Greppo estate in the heart of Montalcino, Tuscany. The Biondi Santi family's journey in viticulture began earlier in the 19th century with Clemente Santi, who conducted pioneering work in isolating and promoting Sangiovese Grosso, the grape destined to define Brunello di Montalcino.
