Benetti, an esteemed name in the luxury yacht industry, has a storied history that dates back to its founding in 1873. Originally established in Viareggio, Italy, by Lorenzo Benetti, the company initially focused on building wooden boats. Over the following decades, Benetti developed a reputation for crafting robust and reliable commercial vessels, including fishing boats and cargo ships.

In the mid-20th century, Benetti began to transition its focus towards the construction of luxury yachts, marking a significant shift in its operational strategy. This change was spearheaded by Lorenzo’s grandsons, who foresaw a burgeoning market for opulent seafaring vessels. Their foresight was rewarded, and by the 1960s, Benetti had become one of the foremost names in the luxury yacht industry.

One of the most noteworthy milestones in Benetti's history was the launch of "Nabila" in 1980. At 86 meters in length, it was one of the largest yachts of its time and symbolized the company’s commitment to innovation and grandeur. "Nabila," later renamed "Kingdom 5KR," famously appeared in the James Bond film, "Never Say Never Again," further cementing Benetti’s international acclaim.

Benetti continued to push the boundaries of yacht design and engineering under the leadership of Paolo Vitelli, who acquired the company in 1985. This era saw the launch of the "Golden Bay" series, which was celebrated for its advanced engineering and design sophistication.

Another historic achievement was made in 2016, with the introduction of the "Metis." This 63-meter masterpiece demonstrated Benetti’s relentless pursuit of excellence in both design and technology, featuring state-of-the-art amenities and customized living spaces.
