Miss Earth Pageant

The Miss Earth Pageant is an annual international event that combines the beauty pageant entertainment industry with environmental awareness and conservation efforts. Established in 2001 by Carousel Productions, the pageant's mission is to use the platform of beauty pageants to promote environmental preservation and protection of Mother Earth.

The Miss Earth Pageant is unique in its emphasis on environmental issues, with candidates and winners actively promoting and participating in environmental preservation programs. In addition to environmental awareness, the pageant also highlights the beauty and culture of various tourist destinations around the world. Each year, more than 80 delegates from over 80 countries compete in the pageant, which includes judging on beauty and knowledge of environmental issues.

The pageant has worked with numerous private and government organizations worldwide through its enviro-socio arm, the Miss Earth Foundation, Inc. The foundation has played a crucial role in the pageant's efforts to promote environmental awareness and conservation.

The Miss Earth Pageant has grown in popularity and significance over the years, becoming the third largest international beauty pageant by number of participating countries in 2003, and surpassing Miss Universe to become the second largest international beauty pageant by number of participating countries in 2020 and 2022.

The pageant's winner is crowned Miss Earth, while the runners-up are named after the classical elements of Fire, Water, and Air. From 2010, the "elemental titles" of Air, Water, and Fire have been proclaimed of equal importance and no longer classified as "runner-up".
