London Fashion Week, a biannual event of global significance, has been a platform for sartorial innovation since its inception. After the presentations, fashion brands sell their designs to retailers, who then sell the clothes to consumers. Most clothing brands present their latest collections not on the catwalk, but at fashion trade fairs, where they showcase their new clothing collections to retailers and buyers.

In addition to the main collections, there are intermediate collections such as Resort/Cruise collections, which are shown on the catwalk in May and go on sale in winter, often starting in mid-November. These collections focus on the transition period from summer to autumn/winter and often include both spring/summer and autumn/winter items and 'elements'.

London Fashion Week has been a platform for designers to push boundaries and challenge industry standards. For instance, Karoline Vitto's unique brand proposition meets industry demands for body diversity and inclusion by featuring only curve and plus-sized models in her shows. Similarly, Helen Anthony's A/W 23 collection merged playful design with Saville Row standard tailoring to create a unique homage to British Heritage, carrying a strong sense of androgyny, individual expression, and exquisite tailoring.
