Il Ballo del Doge

Il Ballo del Doge is an annual Venetian masquerade ball held during the Carnival of Venice, taking place in the 15th-century Palazzo Pisani Moretta, a palace situated on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. The name of the ball derives from the title of the elected heads (Doge) who ruled Venice up until the fall of the Venetian republic in the 18th century. Every year, the ball is attended by around four hundred guests dressed in period costume and masked, making it a reconstruction of an 18th-century masquerade ball that includes a meal of Venetian cuisine.

The entertainment at Il Ballo del Doge has evolved over the years to include performances by opera singers, musicians, burlesque artists, and characters from the Commedia dell'Arte. The ball is known for its artistic performances, music, and dances, with a gourmet dinner and disco from 00:30 a.m. on the ground floor after the show. The event is a true international happening, celebrated by jet setters, celebrities, and all dream seekers, thanks to the great consensus gained edition after edition.

Il Ballo del Doge is not a simple masquerade party; it is the "ball" par excellence, the most luxurious among the Venice Carnival events and one of the most prestigious parties in the world. The event is produced by Atelier Antonia Sautter, a center of couturier activity dedicated to period costumes, to bespoke fashion clothing and accessories conceived for all those who, even if attentive and creative, do not bow to fashion trends and seek the unique as their style. For Il Ballo del Doge, period costume is the obligatory dress code, with costumes available for hire or purchase at Atelier Antonia Sautter.
