Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is a significant event in the world of Formula One racing, forming part of the Formula One World Championship. The race takes place in Paradise, Nevada, on a temporary street circuit that includes the iconic Las Vegas Strip. This circuit, designed by Tilke GmbH, is 6.201 km (3.853 miles) long and consists of 17 corners, with a race distance of 309.958 km (192.599 miles) over 50 laps. The location of the circuit provides a unique racing experience, as it weaves past world-famous landmarks, casinos, and hotels, with drivers reaching top speeds of up to 212 mph.

The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix was held on November 18, 2023, marking the first Formula One race in Las Vegas since the 1982 Caesars Palace Grand Prix and the first street race in the city since the 2007 Vegas Grand Prix Champ Car. The event was the third Grand Prix in the United States on the 2023 calendar after the Miami and the United States Grands Prix, and it was the first time since 1982 that there were three races held in the United States in a Formula One season.

Formula One and Las Vegas have signed a ten-year agreement for the race, with the intent being for the race to continue into perpetuity. The first race, held in 2023, was won by Max Verstappen driving for Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT. The event has been well-received, with fans and drivers praising the excitement and challenges of the street circuit, as well as the unique atmosphere provided by the city of Las Vegas.
