The Presidents Cup is a prestigious biennial golf tournament that has been bringing together some of the world's top players since its inception in 1994. Organized by the PGA Tour, this team match play competition pits a team representing the United States against an International Team, which comprises players from the rest of the world, excluding Europe. The tournament's format, which differs from the Ryder Cup, was designed to provide a global showcase for golf's best players, with 24 golfers competing in various match play formats over four days, including foursomes, four-ball matches, and singles matches.

The Presidents Cup is unique in that there is no purse or prize money, with the PGA Tour contributing to charities nominated by the players, captains, and assistants instead. This spirit of sportsmanship and global goodwill has made the Presidents Cup a highlight in the golf calendar, attracting fans from around the world to witness the world's top players compete for their respective teams.

The tournament's history is marked by memorable moments and impressive performances. For instance, in 2007, the United States and captain Jack Nicklaus defeated Gary Player and the International Team, 19.5-14.5, at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, the oldest golf club in North America.
