Palermo-Montecarlo

The Palermo-Montecarlo is an offshore regatta of great prestige and recognition in the Mediterranean Sea, having been established in 2005. This event is the result of a collaboration between the Consul of the Principality of Monaco and the Sports Council of the City of Palermo, who sought to unite two historically friendly cities through a yacht race. The regatta, which is part of several international circuits including the Italian Offshore Championship, the Mediterranean Offshore Trophy, the Owner of the Year delivered by UVAI association, and the IRC Championnat et Trophees Inshore and Offshore Mediterranee en Equipages, offers a challenging course of 500 nautical miles that has become a classic in the Mediterranean.

The Palermo-Montecarlo has attracted a growing number of entrants since its inception, with both seasoned sailors and amateurs participating in the race. Notable sailors who have competed in the regatta include Mauro Pelaschier, Jochen Schümann, Francesco Bruni, Philippe Monnet, and Brad Butterworth, a four-time America's Cup winner. For some, the race is a test of skill and speed, as they strive to beat the record time. For others, it is an adventure and a chance to spend several days at sea with family and friends.
