The Rolex Giraglia Cup is a prestigious yachting event with a rich history that spans over seven decades. This iconic regatta was conceived in 1952 by Beppe Croce, President of Yacht Club Italiano, René Levainville, President of Yacht Club de France, and Franco Gavagnin during a long dinner in a Parisian bistro. Today, it has grown into a must-do event that attracts hundreds of crews, both amateur and professional, from all around the world, making it one of the oldest and most revered sailing events in the Mediterranean.

The Rolex Giraglia Cup is held annually in June, beginning in San Remo, Italy, and culminating in Genoa, Italy, with a stopover in the glamorous resort of Saint-Tropez, France. The event is organized by the Yacht Club Italiano, Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, Yacht Club de France, and Yacht Club Sanremo, showcasing a strong sense of camaraderie and unity among the yachting community.

The regatta consists of three main components: an arrival race from Sanremo to Saint-Tropez, three days of inshore racing in the Bay of Saint-Tropez, and the week's main event, a 241-nautical mile offshore race to Genoa via La Giraglia, a scenic rocky islet off northern Corsica. This diverse programme offers sailors of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences the opportunity to hone their skills, build teamwork, and embrace the spirit of friendly competition.
