Arnold & Son recently introduced the Perpetual Moon 38 Night Tide—a captivating addition to the Swiss watchmaker’s esteemed collection of moon phase timepieces. This new release honours the moon’s ever-changing influence on the oceans, featuring a design rich with diamonds, mother-of-pearl marquetry, and ruthenium crystal inlays. These materials come together to depict a moonscape above crashing waves and glistening foam, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship dedicated to the women’s collections of this Swiss brand with English heritage.
The Perpetual Moon 38 Night Tide is crafted from a solid block of white gold, fashioned into a case with a diameter of 38 mm and a thickness of 10.44 mm. The opulent timepiece is adorned with IF-VVS round brilliant cut diamonds on the case and buckle, and marquise-cut diamonds on its dial, totalling 2.62 carats. Maintaining their tradition of precision, Arnold & Son has ensured that this moon phase complication is accurate for 122 years. This means the moon on the dial will take over a century to fall just one day behind the actual lunar cycle, mirroring the moon’s vigilant presence over the Earth’s oceans.
The Perpetual Moon 38 Night Tide is a work of art, blending evocative minerals and masterful mechanisms. The use of mother-of-pearl and ruthenium crystal inlays creates a vivid depiction of the moonlit sea. The dial’s blue and grey hues represent the different moods of the ocean, while the diamonds add a sparkling brilliance that captures the watch’s luxurious essence.

The various phases of the moon are displayed in a large aperture between 10 and 2 o’clock, with the cut-out accurately replicating the moon’s appearance.
Limited to just 18 pieces, the Perpetual Moon 38 Night Tide is powered by the smallest movement in the brand’s collection, the A&S1612 caliber, which measures 29.4 mm to fit the case perfectly. This hand-wound movement continues the tradition of calibers with extended power reserves, boasting a 90-hour reserve.
