Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Gemset Collection
Audemars Piguet introduces two new 38 mm Code 11.59 models in 18-carat white or pink gold, featuring 533 diamonds and colored sapphires. ShareSwiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet has debuted two new 38 mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet models—each adorned with intricate gemsetting. Available in 18-carat white or pink gold, these new pieces feature dials set with 533 brilliant-cut diamonds and coloured sapphires (~2.05 carats) arranged in an irregular setting. Powered by the self-winding Calibre 5909 movement, these watches blend technical performance, modern design, and dazzling elegance.
The two new self-winding models in 18-carat gold combine contemporary design with the luxury of diamonds and coloured sapphires, creating a striking aesthetic. For the first time in the 38 mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection, the case is fully set with brilliant-cut diamonds, highlighting the case middle, bezel, lugs, and crown for added elegance.
The dial is the focal point of these timepieces. Crafted in gold and set with 134 diamonds and 399 sapphires in gradient shades of blue or pink, the dial sparkles with every wrist movement, creating a mesmerizing play of light. The brilliant-cut gemstones are cut in two different sizes (0.85 to 0.90 mm and 0.90 to 1 mm) and meticulously set to create an irregular effect and a harmonious colour gradient, identical on each timepiece in the collection. Sourcing the gemstones required finding stones in the desired colour gradient and sufficient quantity, a meticulous task to ensure the striking visual effect on the dial plate.
The 18-carat white gold version features a harmonious blend of gleaming gold and shimmering diamonds. The grey aesthetic of the timepiece is enhanced by the rhodium-toned inner bezel, white gold hour markers, and matching hour and minute hands, which are filled with luminescent material for visibility in the dark. The dial, set with diamonds and sapphires in gradient shades of pink, adds a soft touch of colour and reveals intricate details at every glance. This elegant timepiece is completed with a pearly grey alligator strap.
In contrast, the second model pairs 18-carat pink gold with 533 diamonds and intense gradient blue sapphires (~2.05 carats). The dark blue inner bezel complements the colour of the alligator strap, while the hour markers and luminescent hands match the pink gold case. The two 38 mm novelties house one of the manufacturer’s latest self-winding movements, the Calibre 5909. Introduced for the first time in the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection, this 3.9 mm thick movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and has a 60-hour power reserve, making it perfect for a modern lifestyle. The date indication has been removed to highlight the refined gemsetting on the dial.
The elegance of the Calibre 5909 is expressed through its refined Haute Horlogerie decorations, including Côtes de Genève, traits tirés, satin finishing, snailing, and polishing. These details can be admired through the sapphire case-back, along with the 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight, which is rhodium-toned for the white gold version to match the case colour.
