David Candaux DC6 Titanium
The David Candaux DC6 Titanium Inclined Tourbillon is a high-end, lightweight timepiece featuring a 30-degree inclined tourbillon, a titanium case, and meticulous hand-finishing. ShareIn 2017, Candaux introduced his first timepiece under his name, the DC1, followed by the DC6, which combined meticulous decoration with technical refinement. These watches established his signature style, defined by a bassinet-shaped case, a retractable crown at 6 o’clock, and an inclined flying tourbillon at 9 o’clock. As 2025 begins, Candaux presents the latest evolution of this lineage—the DC6 Titanium—staying true to its origins while further captivating independent watch enthusiasts.
At first glance, the DC6 Titanium retains the familiar aesthetic. The 44mm titanium case follows the curved, refined contours of its predecessors, with a finish that blends sandblasting, satin brushing, and polished details. The retractable “magic crown” at 6 o’clock remains a key element, designed for both functionality and aesthetic purity.
The dial presents an intricate play of textures. Two titanium plates, decorated with the hand-engraved Pointes du Risoux guilloché motif, are affixed with stainless steel screws. This pattern, inspired by the aerial view of the Risoux forest, ties the watch to Candaux’s Vallée de Joux heritage. The layout remains consistent: an inclined time display at 3 o’clock, the inclined tourbillon at 9 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock.
The DC6 Titanium retains its signature dual-domed sapphire crystals over the time display and tourbillon, enhancing the watch’s three-dimensional depth. The power reserve indicator, integrated at the top of the dial, bears the inscription “Le Cœur & L’Esprit” (The Heart & The Spirit), reflecting Candaux’s philosophy.
Despite its bold dimensions, the watch remains exceptionally light due to its titanium construction, including movement components. Weighing under 50 grams, it sits comfortably on the wrist. Its ergonomic case and curved lugs ensure a natural fit, while the hand-stitched rubber strap with a Velcro closure adds a contemporary and secure touch.
The semi-spherical time display at 3 o’clock is a masterpiece, crafted from silvered titanium. A black chapter ring with white minute markings and Arabic numerals encircles the display, accented by grey gold indices at the cardinal points. Curved titanium hands complete the design, with the minute hand featuring a striking blued finish.
One of the watch’s most mesmerizing features is its inclined tourbillon at 9 o’clock. Positioned at a 30-degree angle, both the balance wheel and tourbillon cage operate on this inclined plane, enhancing precision and visual appeal. A small white lacquered arrow on the tourbillon cage serves as a running seconds indicator.
The exhibition caseback reveals the manually wound movement, distinguished by titanium bridges decorated with Côtes du Soillat—Candaux’s interpretation of Geneva stripes. Finishing touches include polished chamfers, beveled edges, and fine perlage, along with a gold plate engraved with the watch’s individual number and a yellow-gold medallion featuring Candaux’s bear’s head logo. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the caliber delivers a 55-hour power reserve via two coaxial fast-rotating barrels.
