Ferdinand Berthoud Chronomètre FB 1RES.3 Jubilee Edition

Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud and Sincere Haute Horlogerie have collaborated to create a special-edition watch to celebrate Sincere’s 70th anniversary. The result is the exclusive Chronomètre FB RES Jubilee Edition, limited to just three timepieces. This collaboration highlights the enduring partnership between the two, which began when Sincere first supported Ferdinand Berthoud’s collections in 2015.

The Jubilee Edition stands out with its octagonal case crafted in platinum and a satin-brushed salmon dial that exudes refined elegance. The design reflects a meticulous approach, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. Each watch in this limited series is individually numbered (“1 of 3”) and features an engraved Sincere logo positioned at the 9 o’clock mark, symbolizing infinity.

The movement within the Chronomètre FB RES Jubilee Edition showcases Ferdinand Berthoud’s technical expertise. At its core is the innovative combination of a fusee-and-chain mechanism and a one-second remontoir d’égalité. This pairing enhances timekeeping precision in significant ways. The fusee-and-chain mechanism delivers a constant force to the gear train, maintaining consistent performance as the barrel spring unwinds. On the other side of the movement, the remontoir d’égalité compensates for potential irregularities due to gear friction. This component temporarily stores energy and then releases it to the escapement in even increments every second, allowing for a deadbeat seconds display shown by the central hand.

Ferdinand Berthoud’s dedication to craftsmanship is evident in the watch’s construction and decoration. The skeletonised dial, bridges, and mainplate reveal the intricate movement beneath, accentuated by hand-bevelled and polished angles that total two meters in combined length. These detailed finishes alone require over 250 hours of labor, underscoring the brand’s commitment to precision and artistry.

“Sincere is one of our long-term partners, having supported us since the launch of our very first collections in 2015. Each of the three timepieces is marked with the special engraving “1 of 3,” enhancing their collectibility and value. The infinity-inspired Sincere logo at the 9 o’clock position on the case serves as a subtle nod to the unending pursuit of excellence shared by both maisons.
