Few names in the world of watchmaking evoke the same reverence as Gérald Genta, and few designs capture the daring spirit of his vision quite like the Maestro collection by Gerald Charles. As the brand marks its 25th anniversary in 2025, it kicks off the celebrations with an extraordinary creation that bridges tradition and innovation.

The Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon White Gold stays true to the bold yet refined style of the collection. Its asymmetric case measures 39mm in diameter and has a lug-to-lug span of 41.7mm, offering an elegant yet substantial wrist presence. With a thickness of just 9.3mm, the watch maintains a sleek profile, making it versatile for various occasions. The case is built from polished 316L stainless steel and features a titanium bezel finished with a striking blue Colormix coating. This combination enhances its visual appeal and also improves scratch resistance, ensuring the watch remains as timeless as its design.

The watch is built for the modern wearer, offering 100 meters of water resistance thanks to its screw-down crown and dual sapphire crystals. Whether worn in formal settings or daily life, the Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon White Gold is as durable as it is stylish.

The true star of this timepiece is its dial. Crafted from untreated 18K white gold, it features a rare hand-hammered finish, a métiers d’art technique mastered by only a handful of artisans. The process involves intricate hammering by hand to create unique, uneven patterns across the surface. The result is a textured, luminous dial that seems alive, reflecting light in ever-changing ways. No two watches will ever look the same, highlighting the individuality of each piece.

Large Roman numerals at XII, III, and IX punctuate the dial, with their bold shapes framed in blue and filled with white Super-LumiNova for legibility in all lighting conditions. The hour and minute hands, outlined in matching blue, also feature luminous material for added visibility. These elements perfectly complement the blue accents of the titanium bezel, creating a harmonious yet striking aesthetic.

At 6 o’clock, the 60-second flying tourbillon takes center stage. Its titanium cage, shaped like the Gerald Charles logo, adds an unmistakable signature to the design. A gold tourbillon bridge enhances the luxurious feel, while a small blue indicator on the tourbillon cage marks the running seconds. Together, these features create a mesmerizing interplay of motion and craftsmanship.

Inside the Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon White Gold beats the Caliber 9.0 automatic movement. Developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, this finely tuned mechanism operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a 50-hour power reserve. Composed of 196 components, the movement demonstrates a meticulous attention to detail, from its architecture to its finishing. The rotor, crafted from solid 22K rose gold, is skeletonized in a honeycomb pattern for visual intrigue and reduced weight. Viewed through the sapphire caseback, the movement’s refined details and elegant construction are on full display, offering an intimate look at the heart of this horological masterpiece.

The exclusivity of the Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon White Gold extends beyond its design. Produced at a rate of only two pieces per month and limited to just 50 pieces, this watch stands as one of the rarest offerings in the Maestro collection, ensuring its status as a true rarity in the world of haute horlogerie.
