H. Moser & Cie. recently introduced the Streamliner Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon Blue Enamel model—a captivating timepiece flaunting a minute repeater housed in a water-resistant case (5 ATM), a rarity among its kind. The minute repeater mechanism, which strikes hours, quarters, and minutes, is displayed prominently on the dial. The hammers and gongs are showcased in a ballet-like motion, complemented by the one-minute flying tourbillon at the 6 o’clock position. The Aqua Blue dial, crafted from “Grand Feu” enamel on a hammered texture base, provides a stunning backdrop for this intricate display, transforming time into a sensory and musical experience.

This model combines the traditional minute repeater complication with a flying tourbillon, positioning the two shaped gongs and the hammers on the dial side in a brand-new design. This required overcoming several technical challenges, particularly curving the gongs to avoid encroaching on the flying tourbillon while maintaining the balanced proportions and fluid shapes characteristic of the Streamliner line. The integrated steel bracelet continues these curves, elegantly following the line of the wrist.

Extensive work has gone into the cushion-shaped steel case to optimize sound, achieving a perfect balance between volume, resonance, and harmony. The case middle has been widened to accommodate the movement while creating enough space for a soundbox. This amplifies the chiming of hours, quarter-hours, and minutes by two gongs, which are struck by two hammers raised by different feeler-spindles. The case’s water resistance ensures that the minute repeater’s melody can even be shared underwater.

At six o’clock, the one-minute flying tourbillon, visible behind a skeletonized bridge, appears to float weightlessly on the dial. The dial itself is crafted in “Grand Feu” enamel, beginning with a hammered gold base. Four different colour pigments are applied to create an ombré effect. The pigments are painstakingly added by a master enameller, and the dial is fired twelve times to achieve the H. Moser & Cie. fumé effect. Each dial is unique, with an intense Aqua Blue hue and a remarkable texture, presented without a logo or indices.

The three-dimensional hands display hours and minutes, formed of two sections with inserts made from Globolight, an innovative ceramic-based material containing Super-LumiNova. The minute hand is curved for an enhanced effect. Powering this exceptional watch is the hand-wound HMC 905 calibre, a new movement that guarantees a power reserve of 90 hours. The movement features a contemporary anthracite grey finish, with certain parts skeletonized to reveal the intricate mechanism. This model reinterprets traditional aesthetics into an understated yet remarkable piece.
