Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem 44 mm
Hublot launches the limited-edition Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem, featuring a 44mm emerald-green Saxem case. ShareFor years, the world of watchmaking has leaned into bright colours, often playing with vivid shades on dials and straps. But Hublot isn’t content with partial splashes of vibrancy. They take boldness to a new level by creating entire watches—including cases—that stand out visually. By integrating innovative materials like sapphire crystals and Saxem, Hublot continues to redefine what modern watch design can achieve. Saxem, which blends aluminium oxide (used in sapphire) with rare-earth elements, has already become a signature material for the brand.
Previous releases, such as the Big Bang MP-11 (2019), Spirit of Big Bang (2020), and Big Bang Unico (2024) in green Saxem, and the bright Yellow Neon Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic (2023), showcased the brand’s capability to combine advanced engineering with striking aesthetics. This year, Hublot extends its green Saxem portfolio with the launch of the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem.
The Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem is built on the same platform as earlier models in the collection but carves out its individuality with an emerald-green Saxem case. The angular, multi-part case is polished to perfection, giving it a luminous and modern look. Measuring 44mm in diameter and 14.4mm thick, the watch is visually bold yet maintains a level of wearability. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters, and it features Hublot’s signature design elements, such as the six titanium screws on the bezel and integrated lugs. Sapphire crystals are placed on both the front and back, allowing a clear view of the intricate movement inside.
The blackened titanium crown matches the mechanical tones of the movement, subtly complementing the vibrant green case. The combination of materials and craftsmanship elevates the watch’s aesthetic and functionality, giving it a distinctive edge in the world of luxury timepieces.
The dial of the Green Saxem is a showcase of complexity and precision. Arabic numerals at 2, 4, 8, and 10 o’clock, as well as baton markers at 3 and 6, are coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal legibility in various lighting conditions. The skeletonized central hour and minute hands also feature Super-LumiNova, making them highly visible against the tinted sapphire crystal dial.
One of the most eye-catching features is the large tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Balancing this visual centerpiece is the micro-rotor located at 12 o’clock. Both are part of the MHUB6035 manufacture automatic calibre, a movement that operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers an impressive power reserve of 72 hours. The exposed mechanics add to the watch’s allure, offering a clear view of its inner workings from multiple angles.
A transparent minute track lines the periphery of the dial, enhancing readability without obstructing the open design. The combination of high-performance engineering and detailed finishing showcases Hublot’s commitment to blending form and function. Hublot ensures that the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem isn’t just a visual marvel but also a versatile accessory. The watch is paired with two strap options: a green transparent rubber strap and a black-lined rubber strap. Both are fitted with a black folding clasp or a buckle with Velcro closure for a secure and comfortable fit.
This dual strap offering allows wearers to adapt the watch to different settings, whether it’s a formal event or a more casual occasion. The combination of vibrant green and understated black offers a balance between boldness and versatility. The Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem is a limited edition watch with only 18 pieces produced, available exclusively through Hublot boutiques and authorized retailers.
