Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph Dark Yellow/Pastel Blue Quartz TPT

The RM65-01 Split Seconds Chronograph in pastel blue and dark yellow Quartz TPT, feature an ultralightweight case and a high-frequency automatic split-seconds chronograph movement. Share

Richard Mille has unveiled two new colourful versions of the RM65-01 Split Seconds Chronograph just in time for summer. The new pastel blue Quartz TPT and dark yellow Quartz TPT versions bring vibrant energy to the collection’s palette. This follows the introduction of a grey Quartz TPT variant last year, which added a fresh, lighter mood to the highly complex watch’s aesthetics. The new editions evoke the hues of azure skies and warm sun, giving a colourful twist to the RM65-01 line.

The proprietary Quartz TPT case is composed of hundreds of layers of quartz filaments and carbon fibres, with silica layers in between. The fibres are aligned in layers no thicker than 45 microns and saturated in a resin developed especially for Richard Mille. These layers are stacked using an automatic positioning system that changes the orientation of the fibre between each layer by 45 degrees. The case is then heated to 120 degrees Celsius and subjected to a pressure of 6 bars before being machined on a CNC machine at Richard Mille’s factory. The resulting material is ultralightweight and extremely durable.

Inside the case lies the most complex automatic movement developed and manufactured by Richard Mille. It took the watchmaker five years to develop this timepiece. Powering the watch is the caliber RMAC4, a high-frequency automatic split-second chronograph movement that pushes the boundaries of watchmaking. It offers an impressive power reserve of 60 hours. The movement is equipped with the latest-generation split-seconds mechanism developed in-house. The 6-column wheel ensures optimised simultaneous movement, maximal function locking, and greater adjustment durability. The pastel blue and dark yellow Quartz TPT versions are limited to just 120 pieces.
