Mercedes-Benz Places, a 67-story, 2.5 million-square-foot luxury residential tower, is under development in Brickell, Miami. This is Mercedes-Benz’s first residential project in North America and one of Florida’s largest construction projects. Developed by JDS Development Group, with SHoP Architects leading the exterior design and Woods Bagot handling interiors, the tower is being built at 1 Southside Park.

SHoP Architects, previously responsible for the Brooklyn Tower in New York, has created a geometric structure with interconnected volumes. The design follows Mercedes-Benz’s Sensual Purity philosophy, blending emotion and intelligence with Bauhaus-inspired geometric precision. The tower’s exterior features a reflective silver façade with contrasting black and white elements, capturing natural light and highlighting views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Terraces and individual balconies wrap nearly every unit, maximising outdoor space.

Inside, 791 residences range from studios to three-bedroom apartments. Each unit features up to ten-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, deep terraces, and custom interiors designed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz’s design team. The spaces reflect the brand’s precision with bold black-and-white contrasts, warm wood finishes, and automotive-inspired detailing. Kitchens include black stone countertops, super white-stained red oak cabinetry, metal-wrapped upper cabinets, and integrated Miele appliances. Bathrooms offer Bianco Gioia or Nero Marquina stone showers with rain showerheads, illuminated marble ledges, and floating walnut vanities.

Residents have access to over 130,000 square feet of amenities, including a 52-foot rooftop pool, a high-end fitness centre, a 174-key hotel, office spaces, and retail shops. The development integrates smart-living technology, digital property solutions, and home automation.

Reflecting its automotive legacy, Mercedes-Benz Places offers a fleet of vehicles exclusively for residents, EV charging stations, valet parking, and a bicycle and scooter-sharing system. The project also enhances Southside Park, creating landscaped green spaces and direct connections to Miami’s Underline Park system.

Project interior design leader and Woods Bagot New York Principal, Krista Ninivaggi said, “This project allowed us to dream up new worlds to exist within this building. Having the Mercedes-Benz brand as our springboard allowed us to work within a different design language. This project looks unique yet feels rooted in the brand aesthetics. It is truly a special project to work on as a designer.”

Following Tower 1’s rapid sales—100 residences sold in just four days—Tower 2 has now launched, offering the same level of design, craftsmanship, and technology. The newly opened Sales Gallery features the Silver Arrow Lounge, a private rooftop space inspired by the brand’s racing history. Foundation work is underway, with initial occupancy expected in 2027.
