Dubai’s Marasi Bay Marina is undergoing a transformation with the construction of VELA, the latest project by Omniyat in partnership with the Dorchester Collection. This new development is set to redefine luxury waterfront living in Dubai, offering an architectural design that balances sophistication and function. The VELA tower, standing 150 meters tall, is being developed in collaboration with British architectural firm Foster + Partners.

The project spans 270,000 square feet across 30 floors and is designed to integrate harmoniously with its surroundings. The tower’s unique design features fluid curves, glass façades, and wraparound terrace pools that offer uninterrupted views of Dubai’s iconic skyline, the marina, and Business Bay.

Mahdi Amjad, Founder and Executive Chairman of Omniyat, shared his excitement about the rapid pace of construction. “This project is a significant step in realizing our vision for Marasi Bay Marina as a premier luxury destination.” Construction began just four months after the project was officially announced, underscoring Omniyat’s commitment to innovation and timely execution.

The interiors of VELA are crafted by renowned Parisian design duo Gilles & Boissier, who have drawn inspiration from the natural surroundings of Marasi Bay. The design merges dramatic aesthetics with a sense of calm, creating a harmonious flow between the interior spaces and the building’s striking façade. Each of the 38 fully furnished residences is tailored for luxury living, featuring double-height ceilings, L-shaped corner pools, and private lift lobbies. These details are complemented by vast glass balconies that enhance the connection to the outdoors. At the pinnacle of the tower is the Sky Palace, a three-floor residence that includes two swimming pools, grand terraces, a private gym, and a traditional majlis.

The design of VELA draws heavily from its waterfront setting. The building’s fluid architecture mirrors the rippling water, while the expansive use of glass maximizes views and natural light. Foster + Partners’ approach ensures that the design celebrates the location while delivering a contemporary residential experience. Residents will also have access to the canal promenade but will also benefit from marina moorings directly below their residences.

VELA’s amenities cater to a modern, luxurious lifestyle. A triple-height gym offers panoramic views of the marina, while the infinity-edge lap pool appears to float above the water. Additional features include a spa suite, a salon, a private cinema room, and valet services. For families, there is a dedicated children’s playroom, adding convenience for residents with young children.

Dorchester Collection’s renowned hospitality ensures that residents receive personalized services, including 24/7 concierge support, valet parking, and doorman and porter services. VELA is strategically located along the canal of the Marasi Bay Marina, adjacent to Omniyat’s other landmark development, The Lana.
