Hutong Dubai
Contemporary and occasionally fiery Northern Chinese cuisine, amazing dim sum and creative cocktails served in a stylish setting
Made famous by its sibling in London's The Shard, this fine dining Chinese restaurant boasts its own stunning location right in the heart of Dubai International Financial Centre.
The outpost itself entices with its brooding but glamorous interiors, accentuated by subtle Arabian notes and a wishing tree centrepiece that bears an array of vermilion-red 'blooms' with guests' handwritten notes on it.
While many decor elements at Hutong allude to Far Eastern traditions, the menu favours Northern Chinese preferences. One of the star ingredients here is the humble chilli—a fitting choice given the eatery's reputation, which is just as hot as its spicy dishes.
Main dishes are also classically based, with the choice between barbecue, meat, seafood, fish, and vegetarian. Stand-out options include the flaming whole peking duck, truffle kou shui chicken, and the ‘Red Lantern’ (deep-fried spiced soft-shell crab with dried whole chillies).
