Jua
JUA (joo-ah) is one-of-a-kind Korean wood-fired restaurant by chef Hoyoung Kim
Chef Kim is a former executive chef of two-Michelin-starred Jungsik in Tribeca. JUA is a gift to his firstborn daughter Jua whose name signifies "joie" in French. The restaurant utilizes a variety of wood-fire techniques to present an original 7-course tasting menu.
Located on East 22nd Street, this sleek upscale establishment offers simple classic Korean flavours from a reimagined Kimbap to a cherry-wood smoked Long Island duck.
The dining room highlights exposed brick walls and an open view of the kitchen. Food smoked over a wood-burning grill is the focus, with an unusually diverse roster including Mackerel, Squid, Truffle Noodles, Branzino, Duck, and Omija Pear.
