Gramercy Tavern
Danny Meyer's Flatiron District tavern with a fixed-price-only dining room and a bustling bar area
One of America's most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests to enjoy its contemporary American cuisine, warm hospitality, and unparalleled service for over two decades. Chef Michael Anthony's ever-evolving seasonal menu showcases the restaurant's relationships with local farms and purveyors.
Opened in 1994 by restaurateur Danny Meyer in a historic landmark building, the restaurant was designed by New York-based architecture firm Bentel & Bentel Architects. The restaurant's neo-Colonial decor is soothing and elegantly rustic. The restaurant can seat 130 people, the bar can accommodate 60 people, and a private dining room can seat 12–22 people.
Though the restaurant’s farm-to-table ethos is outlined by Michael Anthony's cooking, the menu, based on the most gorgeous ingredients and homemade sausages, delivers one message above all: comfort food that’s served to bring together people needn’t be any less sumptuous, rich or luxurious to look at.
