Art and asphalt collide in the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan Series II
The car maintains a twin-turbocharged V12 engine delivering 600PS and 900Nm of torque, tuned for dynamic performance and personalised luxury. ShareRolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the Black Badge Cullinan Series II—a progressive iteration of its assertive and uncompromising Black Badge line, celebrated for appealing to those who embrace the most audacious forms of self-expression. The Series II features unique exterior and interior enhancements developed to accentuate its bold character, including the SPIRIT digital interface and the Whispers private members app.
“Black Badge strongly appeals to a distinct group of clients who seek a more visceral interpretation of the Rolls-Royce experience. In its engineering, technology, materials, and design, Black Badge Cullinan Series II satisfies these clients’ keen appetite for innovation and new modes of self-expression. Cullinan’s darker alter ego has always asserted its own unique place in our product portfolio; I’m certain that this new incarnation will build on its predecessor’s success.” Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars
The exterior of the Black Badge Cullinan Series II asserts itself with a redesigned front end, highlighted by a lower air intake and the iconic Pantheon grille, which now features illumination—a first across the Cullinan models. The grille, along with all exterior detailing, adheres to the Black Badge’s signature black colour scheme, accentuated by a silver horizon line. The Spirit of Ecstasy and other exterior details are finished in black, enhancing the vehicle’s monolithic appearance. This model also allows for extended customisation of the lower body’s colour scheme.
The vehicle’s impressive stance is complemented by the new 23-inch wheels, designed with an intricate pattern of ten interwoven spokes that showcase a combination of polished, painted, and recessed surfaces. These wheels also allow for a clear view of the signature Red Black Badge brake callipers, available in several colours.
Inside, the Black Badge Cullinan Series II continues Rolls-Royce’s tradition of using advanced, technical materials, retaining the admired Technical Carbon finish from its predecessor, which now forms a precise pattern that enhances the interior’s three-dimensional effect. If individual rear seats are chosen, they feature the Black Badge family motif embroidered onto the Technical Carbon section.
The cabin’s ambience is further defined by the Duality Twill textile, inspired by the bamboo groves near Sir Henry Royce’s winter home, and is available in bold bespoke colourways. The seating features up to 107,000 perforations creating a pattern reminiscent of the clouds over Goodwood, adding a dynamic and inspired touch to the interior. This model also showcases a new interior Clock Cabinet that highlights the Black Badge Spirit of Ecstasy, and seating that incorporates an intricate Duality Twill pattern with up to 2.2 million stitches and 11 miles of thread. Additionally, the seating design incorporates a Placed Perforation pattern inspired by the clouds above Rolls-Royce’s home base, involving up to 107,000 individual perforations.
In terms of engineering, the Black Badge Cullinan Series II retains the powerful twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine, ensuring the vehicle’s performance matches its bold design. The transmission and throttle settings are fine-tuned for a more immediate response, complementing the bespoke exhaust system and modified brake pedal for a sharper driving experience. Notably, this model introduces 23-inch wheels, a first for any Black Badge Rolls-Royce, maintaining the motor car’s impressive 600PS and 900Nm torque.
Air vent surrounds and other interior metals undergo a darkening process to match the overall Black Badge theme, contributing to the car’s subversive design principles. The unique Clock Cabinet in the Cullinan Series II displays an analogue timepiece alongside an up-lit Spirit of Ecstasy, with the new Illuminated Fascia featuring a glowing infinity symbol set against a Cityscape pattern. The Black Badge Cullinan Series II also introduces a digital Bespoke treatment for the instrument dials, available in four innovative colourways, enhancing the futuristic and exclusive feel of the vehicle.
