Aston Martin introduces the ultra-exclusive Valiant, a track-focused, road-legal special edition developed with Fernando Alonso, powered by a 745PS Twin-Turbo V12 engine and limited to 38 units. ShareAston Martin has unveiled the Valiant, an ultra-exclusive, track-focused, road-legal special edition developed through the bespoke service Q by Aston Martin. Originating from a personal commission by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver Fernando Alonso, this model continues the brand’s tradition of creating highly collectable special editions. The Valiant is powered by a 745PS 5.2-litre Twin-Turbo V12 engine paired with a bespoke 6-speed manual transmission.
Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver said: “Valour was a spectacular celebration of Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary, and stirred me to create a more extreme, race car inspired version that was track focussed, while also delivering a thrilling drive on-road. Valiant is born from my passion for driving at the limit and I have enjoyed working closely with the Q by Aston Martin team on both the design and technical specification and believe we have created a masterpiece.”
The Valiant’s chassis features Multimatic ASV dampers and recalibrated electronics to enhance its track capabilities. The all-carbon fibre bodywork, designed for aerodynamic efficiency, reduces weight and increases downforce, while the pared-back, lightweight interior enhances the driver’s connection and focus. Inspired by the iconic ‘Muncher’ Le Mans racer, the Valiant uses cutting-edge materials and technology, achieving further weight savings with magnesium, titanium, and advanced 3D printing for key components.
Combining classic V12 performance with state-of-the-art engineering, lightweight materials, and spectacular design, the Valiant pushes the boundaries of performance and engagement. Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin described the Valiant as a modern masterpiece, blending performance, track-focused dynamics, and hypercar intensity.
The Valiant’s powertrain, a twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 engine, develops 745PS and 753Nm of torque. It features standard-fit Carbon Ceramic brakes for immense stopping power. Unique engineering highlights include a 3D-printed rear subframe, a magnesium torque tube, lightweight 21” magnesium wheels, and a motorsport-spec lithium-ion battery. These components significantly reduce the car’s weight and enhance its performance.
The Valiant’s exterior design is aggressive and unambiguous, featuring extensive lightweight carbon fibre. Its aerodynamic elements, including a deep front splitter, broadside sills, and vortex generators, reduce turbulence, drag, and lift. The car’s rear design features a sharp Kamm tail, a fixed wing, and a functional rear diffuser, enhancing downforce and stability.
Inside, the Valiant combines race-bred functionality with Aston Martin’s design expertise. The two-seat cockpit features extensive use of exposed satin-finish carbon fibre, with lightweight upholstery and strategic placement of seat padding for comfort and luxury. The new steering wheel, unique to the Valiant, reflects the car’s purity and connection. The manual gearbox’s mechanical nature is highlighted by a cutaway in the transmission tunnel, exposing the gear linkage.
Speaking of the new Valiant, Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin said: “Valiant is a modern masterpiece. A creation of Q by Aston Martin, inspired by a racing legend and conceived using the latest F1-inspired technology, exotic materials and obsessive weight reduction. It focuses on placing the driver in a truly unique, intense and emotional driving experience. The ultimate blend of performance, track-focused dynamics and hypercar intensity, Valiant embodies Aston Martin’s determined commitment to build rare and extraordinary cars for true drivers”.
Driver comfort and safety are paramount, with the Valiant featuring a built-in half-cage and bespoke trimmed Recaro Podium seats. The steel half-cage allows for 4-point race harnesses, while the Recaro seats provide exceptional support. The car’s interior is available with Alcantara or semi-aniline leather trim, with lightweight materials and a tactile steering wheel for maximum control.
The Valiant’s suspension system features Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers, offering state-of-the-art suspension technology. These dampers provide Aston Martin’s engineers with extensive scope for tuning ride and handling characteristics. The car’s driving modes–Sport, Sport+, and Track–have been recalibrated to help the driver explore the car’s full performance.
Production is limited to 38 units globally, with first deliveries scheduled for Q4 2024.
