Black Badge Spectre is the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history

Rolls-Royce unveils Black Badge Spectre, its most powerful model ever, featuring 485 kW (659 hp) and 1075 Nm of torque. Share

Rolls-Royce has introduced the Black Badge Spectre, an enhanced version of its all-electric super coupé. With a record 485 kW (659 hp) of power and 1075 Nm of torque, this model is the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever made. Alongside its performance upgrades, Black Badge Spectre offers bold exterior finishes, bespoke interior details, and new technological features that reflect the distinct tastes of its clientele.

Black Badge Spectre was developed for those seeking a more dynamic and immersive driving experience. Rolls-Royce engineers analyzed anonymized driving data from Black Badge owners to understand how these cars are driven. This research confirmed that clients frequently use bursts of power rather than sustained acceleration, leading to the development of two unique driving functions.

Infinity Mode, activated via the Infinity (∞) button on the steering wheel, unlocks the car’s full power potential, sharpening the throttle response. Spirited Mode, inspired by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, delivers a surge of acceleration by allowing the driver to pre-load the powertrain before unleashing the full 1075 Nm of torque. This feature enables the car to reach 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.

To complement the increased power, Black Badge Spectre’s chassis has been refined for a more engaging drive. Steering weight has been adjusted for greater feedback, while revised roll stabilization enhances cornering stability. Improved dampers maintain body control under acceleration and braking, ensuring the car remains composed while preserving Rolls-Royce’s signature Magic Carpet Ride. These engineering refinements offer an unmistakably Black Badge experience—intense, immediate, and precise.

Client anticipation for Black Badge Spectre began long before its official debut. Rolls-Royce discreetly provided a clandestine fleet of early models to select clients under strict confidentiality. Their overwhelmingly positive feedback reinforced the marque’s vision for the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history.

Black Badge Spectre introduces new design elements that further distinguish it from the standard model. The Vapour Violet paint finish, inspired by the neon lights of 1980s and 1990s club culture, makes its global debut on this car. A painted Iced Black bonnet adds contrast, complementing the extensive palette of 44,000 available colours. Clients can also commission a bespoke hue, exclusively reserved for their car. A new “waft” coachline, positioned on the lower body, accentuates the car’s sweeping proportions, reinforcing its commanding presence.

A newly developed 23-inch five-spoke forged aluminium wheel design, available in a part-polished or all-black finish, subtly reveals the car’s technical complexity and power. Recognizing the broad geography of Black Badge clients, Rolls-Royce offers winter tires for the wheelset from launch, ensuring optimal performance in all conditions. As with previous Black Badge models, all exterior brightwork, including the Spirit of Ecstasy, Pantheon Grille surround, and door handles, is presented in a signature dark finish, emphasizing the car’s bold aesthetic.

Inside, the Illuminated Grille now features a coloured backplate, offered in shades such as Tailored Purple, Charles Blue, Chartreuse, Forge Yellow, and Turchese. Clients can extend this vibrant aesthetic into the cabin with Illuminated Black Badge Treadplates, available in ten complementary colours. The dashboard fascia incorporates an abstract representation of the Spirit of Ecstasy, now intertwined with the Black Badge Infinity symbol, a nod to the emblem used in historical water-speed records. This motif is rendered in a star-lit pattern set against a Piano Black background.

The Technical Fibre finish, a defining feature of Black Badge interiors, uses carbon and fine metal thread to create a three-dimensional diamond pattern. Each interior piece undergoes meticulous craftsmanship, from hand-laying the materials to the final polishing process. The Infinity symbol is further integrated into the Waterfall section that separates the rear seats, reinforcing the car’s identity as the ultimate Black Badge Rolls-Royce.

Spectre’s digital interface, SPIRIT, allows for a highly customizable driving experience, offering instrument dial themes in Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire, Ultraviolet, and Synth Wave. This digital integration extends to Rolls-Royce’s exclusive owners’ platform, Whispers, where clients can access personalized services, remote charging data, and event invitations.

Demand for Spectre has exceeded expectations. In 2024, it was the second most-requested Rolls-Royce globally and the best-selling model in Europe. It also contained the second highest level of Bespoke content per motor car in the marque’s portfolio, reflecting its significance within Rolls-Royce’s contemporary offering.
