Hennessey has announced the launch of the Venom F5-M Roadster—the world’s most powerful manual production car. This new hypercar is centred around a six-speed gated manual transmission, delivering a raw and immersive driving experience that focuses on maximizing driver engagement. Hennessey’s engineers have reworked the Venom F5-M to optimize the manual transmission’s performance, pairing it with the 1,817 bhp Fury V8 engine for an intense and exhilarating driving thrill.
The Venom F5-M Roadster builds upon Hennessey’s legacy of record-breaking hypercars. Its predecessor, the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, holds the world record for the fastest convertible, reaching a speed of 265.6 mph in 2016. Like the Venom GT, the F5-M Roadster also features a six-speed manual transmission, emphasizing Hennessey’s commitment to creating high-performance, driver-focused hypercars.
John Hennessey, founder and CEO, stated: “We are so excited to offer the Venom F5-M Roadster – the world’s most powerful manual. We always wanted to build a manual Venom F5 – and it’s something our clients have been asking for. It’s old school, it’s badass, and it offers ultimate driving engagement.”
The Venom F5-M Roadster’s design emphasizes connection, feedback, and the full sensory experience. Unlike traditional hypercars with electronic gearboxes, Hennessey’s team opted for a fully mechanical connection. Engineers worked closely with the calibration team to remap the engine and adjust the gearing ratios for a smoother transition of power. This manual design enables the driver to transfer 1,817 bhp to the rear wheels, promising explosive acceleration while maintaining control and precision at higher speeds.
Only 12 Venom F5-M Roadsters will be built, and all are already sold. Each model, priced at $2.65 million, features a unique livery exclusive to the range, with personalized colours and carbon fibre treatments chosen by the owners. A standout design feature of the F5-M Roadster is the 55-inch dorsal fin, stretching from the roof-mounted air scoop to the rear deck, which enhances both aerodynamics and aesthetic appeal.
Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned to highlight the new manual transmission. The gear shifter, crafted from aluminum and carbon fibre, sits proudly within a six-speed gate made from billet aluminum. Its placement is optimized for perfect shifting, while the physical connection between the shifter and the gearbox provides the driver with full control over the car’s immense power. The cockpit design also includes new horizontal air outlets, a billet aluminum key slot, and toggle switches inspired by jet-fighter controls, adding to the car’s tactile and engaging driving experience.
Nathan Malinick, Hennessey’s Director of Design, emphasized the boldness of the F5-M, stating: “We’re extreme, we’re authentic, plus we’re distinctly and uniquely American. These characteristics shine through in the design of the F5-M, inside and out, and in how it performs. This is a car for bold and brave driving enthusiasts who like their hypercars to thrill with wild power, dramatic design, and an experience behind the wheel that is incomparable to anything else on Earth.”
The bespoke livery designed for the F5-M Roadster further emphasizes its open-top design and motorsport heritage. The car’s exposed carbon fibre is paired with a coloured central line and dual contrasting accent stripes that run along the vehicle from the front to the rear. These stripes also continue inside the cockpit, creating a visual connection between the exterior and the interior.
The design, specification, and assembly of each Venom F5-M Roadster are carried out at Hennessey’s headquarters in Sealy, Texas. The company has already delivered 24 Venom F5 Coupe, Roadster, and Revolution models to customers across the globe. The 12 Venom F5-M Roadsters are part of a limited 30-unit build run of Roadster models. Each car is guaranteed to be unique, with every customer’s chosen colour being removed from Hennessey’s configurator to ensure exclusivity.
