Lamborghini presents Temerario, an authentic “Fuoriclasse”

Lamborghini’s Temerario roars into the spotlight—a 920 CV hybrid supercar blending blistering power with futuristic design. Share

Lamborghini has unveiled the new Temerario, a super sports car that sets a new benchmark in performance and technology. Equipped with a twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain producing 920 CV, the Temerario offers unparalleled driving dynamics, combining the raw power of a combustion engine with the precision of electric motors. Debuting at Monterey Car Week 2024, this is the second model in Lamborghini’s High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) lineup, following the Revuelto, and completes the hybridization of the brand’s lineup after the launch of the Urus SE.

The Temerario’s powertrain is a technical marvel, featuring a newly developed twin-turbo V8 engine capable of revving up to 10,000 rpm, paired with three electric motors. This hybrid system delivers a combined output of 920 CV, enabling a top speed of over 340 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. The V8, developed entirely in-house, is the first production super sports car engine of its kind and represents a major leap in both performance and efficiency.

“Every new Lamborghini must surpass its forerunners in performance terms, while at the same time being more sustainable from an emissions standpoint. With the Temerario, we have completed a key chapter in the electrification strategy included in our Direzione Cor Tauri plan: we also become the first luxury automotive brand to offer a completely hybridized range,” says Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

Lamborghini has developed an entirely new aluminium chassis using high-strength, ultra-light alloys that increase torsional rigidity and contribute to superior driving dynamics. This innovation allows the car to offer exceptional passenger comfort and more space than any other vehicle in its segment while maintaining the aggressive stance and athletic proportions expected from a Lamborghini.

The exterior of the Lamborghini Temerario exemplifies the brand’s bold and aggressive design language. The car’s silhouette is characterized by sharp, angular lines that are both functional and visually striking. The front features a prominent shark-nose design that conveys speed and confidence. The signature hexagonal light signatures, including new hexagonal daytime running lights (DRLs), ensure the car is instantly recognizable. The design integrates aerodynamic elements like air channels and fins that direct airflow to maximize performance while cooling critical components. The redesigned rear end includes a fixed spoiler and wide diffuser, which enhance downforce and stability at high speeds.

The interior of the Temerario is a perfect blend of luxury and sportiness, reflecting Lamborghini’s “Feel like a pilot” design philosophy. The cockpit is driver-focused, with a low seating position that enhances the sense of being in control of a high-performance machine. The dashboard features a mix of digital interfaces and tactile controls, combining cutting-edge technology with physical engagement. The interior materials include carbon fibre, premium leather, and Dinamica suede, all chosen for their lightweight properties and luxurious feel.

The seats are available in multiple configurations, from highly customizable comfort options to carbon fibre double-shell sports seats designed for track use. These seats offer ergonomic support while maintaining the interior’s sleek aesthetics. The cabin is spacious for a supercar, providing more room for passengers and luggage than typically seen in this segment. There is also integration of the latest generation of digital displays, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 9.1-inch passenger display.

The hybrid powertrain, which includes a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a specific output of 200 CV per litre, is designed for maximum responsiveness and seamless integration with the electric motors. Two of the electric motors are mounted on the front axle, providing additional traction and allowing the car to operate as a fully electric supersports vehicle when needed. The electric motor integrated into the V8 engine housing works as a “torque gap filler,” ensuring smooth power delivery across all driving conditions. This setup, combined with the vehicle’s sophisticated torque vectoring system, allows for exceptional handling and stability on both the track and everyday roads.

The car’s roofline has been crafted with a central channel that directs air toward the rear spoiler, improving aerodynamic efficiency. Air intakes behind the doors feed the twin-turbo V8 engine while visually emphasizing the car’s powerful stance. The design also incorporates elements inspired by motorsports, such as the integrated exhaust tailpipes and the technical rear end, which visually communicates the car’s performance potential.
