Porsche is adding a new Carrera S to the 911 model lineup
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S delivers 473 hp, advanced features, and extensive customization, positioned between the Carrera and GTS models. SharePorsche has expanded its iconic 911 lineup with the launch of the 2025 Carrera S, offering a significant leap in power, performance, and luxury. Designed to bridge the gap between the 911 Carrera and the more track-oriented 911 Carrera GTS, the Carrera S is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer engine that produces 473 hp (353 kW), alongside a suite of enhancements aimed at delivering a superior driving experience.
At the core of the new Carrera S is its upgraded 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, which boasts an output of 473 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, representing an increase of 30 hp compared to its predecessor. To achieve this boost, Porsche has implemented redesigned turbochargers and an optimized charge-air cooling system. These changes enhance the car’s performance while maintaining efficiency. The Carrera S Coupe, when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, a 0.2-second improvement over the previous model, and reaches a top track speed of 191 mph.
The eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) channels power to the rear wheels with precision, enabling smooth and responsive gear changes. These performance upgrades make the Carrera S a thrilling option, delivering dynamics previously reserved for higher-tier models. The 2025 Carrera S comes with a significantly enhanced standard equipment package, offering both performance-focused and comfort-enhancing features. Performance-wise, the car is fitted with a Sport Exhaust system with silver tailpipes and brakes inherited from the previous 911 Carrera GTS, measuring 408 mm on the front axle and 380 mm on the rear. Updated dampers with optimized hydraulics provide improved ride quality and responsiveness.
Staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Carrera S wheels are standard, as is Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+), which enhances cornering dynamics. For those seeking additional performance upgrades, Porsche offers optional features like Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), PASM Sport Suspension with a 10 mm lower ride height, and rear-axle steering for increased agility at lower speeds and enhanced stability at higher speeds.
Inside the 2025 Carrera S, Porsche has made significant strides in luxury and comfort. The cabin now includes a greater amount of leather upholstery as standard, covering the seats, headrests, upper dashboard, and upper door panels. Coupe models come standard with a two-seat configuration, with rear seats available as a no-cost option. Cabriolet models include rear seats as standard equipment.
For even greater customization, buyers can opt for a full leather interior package, which extends leather to areas such as the lower dashboard, glove box lid, rear side panels, and rear tunnel. Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur program offers up to 48 two-tone leather combinations, enabling owners to personalize their vehicle to an extraordinary degree.
The Carrera S benefits from the latest technological updates found across the 911 lineup. Standard features include Matrix Design LED headlights, a cooled wireless smartphone charger, and a drive mode selector integrated into the heated steering wheel. Additional options include HD-Matrix Design LED headlights, a front axle lift system, and the Sport Chrono Package, which includes the Porsche Track Precision app for data tracking during track sessions.
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S is available for order now, with deliveries to U.S. dealerships expected in Spring 2025.
