In a groundbreaking collaboration with Porsche Asia Pacific, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has unveiled the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of luxury and innovation. This striking electric sports car is a vivid tribute to Southeast Asia’s vibrant culture and artistry, infused with the timeless beauty of jade. The captivating design features a colour-shifting exterior, where hues evolve with the changing light and angles, echoing the dynamic metamorphosis of jade deep within the Earth’s crust.
The inspiration for this exclusive Sonderwunsch creation draws from the fascinating geological journey that jade undergoes. Over thousands of years, minerals within the Earth fuse under immense heat and pressure, giving birth to the stunning colours and patterns we associate with this prized gemstone. This natural process became the foundation for the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade’s unique design, with the goal of reflecting the spirit of the region while capturing the Porsche ethos of precision and performance.
Having been unveiled in Singapore, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade will travel across Southeast Asia before being auctioned for charity in 2025. Built on the foundation of the 2024 Taycan Turbo S model, this one-off creation boasts enhanced power, extended range, and faster charging capabilities, all while maintaining the signature electric performance that defines the Taycan series. With an astonishing 700 kW (952 PS) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, this Taycan is a signature of Porsche’s relentless pursuit of excellence.
One of the most striking features of the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade is its revolutionary paintwork. Porsche has, for the first time, blended two Chromaflair effect paints, “Urban Bamboo” and “Shifting Carbon,” to create a mesmerizing colour gradient. The car’s exterior shimmers in shades of green, gold, black, and blue, depending on the light and angle, giving it an otherworldly appearance that mirrors the depth and complexity of jade itself. This intricate paintwork, requiring 80 hours of meticulous hand application, extends beyond the body of the car to include details like the rear model designation and the key fob.
Adding another layer of cultural significance, the car features a custom-designed logo inspired by the mythical Chinese creature “LongMa,” which combines the dragon’s power and the horse’s strength. The logo, seen on the sill guards, headrests, and door projectors, symbolizes great fortune and prosperity—fitting for a car debuting in the Chinese Zodiac’s Year of the Dragon in 2024. The logo further connects to the Taycan’s name, derived from the Turkish word for “young horse,” intertwining global mythologies and Porsche’s legacy of high performance.
The attention to detail continues with the car’s bespoke carbon-weave components, which replace standard materials in key areas such as the front bumper, side skirts, and rear diffuser. These hand-crafted parts are varnished to reveal the carbon fibre’s natural weave, creating a play of light and texture that complements the vehicle’s shimmering Chromaflair paintwork. Even the wheels’ airblades are made from this special carbon material.
Inside, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade is equally opulent. Porsche’s “Leather to Sample” program debuts on the Taycan series with this model, combining the standard Slate Grey leather with a custom dark green called “Englishgreen.” This rich hue graces the doors, centre console, and seats, creating a seamless blend of luxury and sophistication. For those seeking even more personalization, Porsche offers the “Leather to Sample Plus” program, which allows for nearly unlimited colour options.
First introduced in the 1970s, the Sonderwunsch program has been reimagined for the modern era, offering customization options that go beyond the traditional Car Configurator.
