Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, a special release created by its bespoke personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin, to mark 60 years of the brand’s association with the James Bond franchise. This iconic partnership began in 1964 with the release of Goldfinger, where the Aston Martin DB5 made its debut on the silver screen, becoming one of the most recognisable cars in the world and cementing its place in the ‘DB’ series. To celebrate this milestone, Aston Martin will release just 60 units of the DB12 Goldfinger Edition worldwide. This limited run serves as a tribute to a partnership that has spanned over half of Aston Martin’s 111-year history, paying homage to the brand’s cinematic legacy and its involvement with the legendary secret agent, James Bond.

While the DB5 in Goldfinger was equipped with gadgets to help Bond escape his enemies, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition focuses on delivering a luxurious driving experience, inspired by the film’s iconic elements. The car is finished in Silver Birch paint, a colour instantly recognisable as that of the DB5 from the movie. It boasts striking 21-inch multi-spoke wheels in silver, with a diamond finish, black brake calipers, and bespoke gold side strakes. A unique Aston Martin logo in silver and black enamel, along with a bright chrome ‘Q’ fender badge, subtly hints at the vehicle’s special Bond-inspired features.

Inside, the luxury continues with leather Sports Plus seats styled with a fluted design reminiscent of the DB5. The intricate Prince of Wales check pattern, a nod to Bond’s classic suits, is perforated onto the seats, door inserts, and headliner, and is also etched onto a custom treadplate. The polished sill plaque bears the Goldfinger 60th anniversary logo, adding a further touch of elegance.

The car’s interior includes 18k gold-plated accents on the drive mode rotary dial, roller controls, and gear selector, which takes inspiration from the golden tracking device Bond used in Goldfinger. Gold metal fibres are woven into the 2X2 Twill Gloss Carbon Fibre trim, creating a seamless blend of luxury and functionality. A subtle Bond reference, the ‘eight of hearts’ playing card, seen in the famous Miami pool scene, is embroidered onto the driver’s sun visor, a detail sure to delight fans.

Each DB12 Goldfinger Edition will be delivered with a set of exclusive gifts, as special as the car itself. These include a custom car cover, a luxury key presentation box, a Silver Birch Speedform model, and a unique section of the iconic Goldfinger Furka Pass scene on 35mm film. Owners will also receive a 1/60 limited edition Aston Martin magazine, all presented in a Globe-Trotter attaché case that mirrors the design of the DB12, complete with a Silver Birch body and Prince of Wales check interior.

Adding to the exclusivity, owners will receive a magnum of 2007 vintage Champagne Bollinger, individually numbered and accompanied by four Bollinger 007 glasses, all elegantly packaged in a bespoke Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case. The DB12 Goldfinger Edition was designed by the in-house team at Q by Aston Martin, the brand’s personalisation and bespoke service. Much like ‘Q Branch’ in the James Bond films, the service offers limitless possibilities, allowing customers to embark on a personal commissioning journey. Whether it’s a subtle detail or entirely bespoke components, the team at Q by Aston Martin works closely with customers to craft truly one-of-a-kind vehicles.

The Aston Martin DB12 is a super tourer that blends performance, luxury, and style, pushing the boundaries of the DB lineage. Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, it produces 680PS/800Nm, delivering an exhilarating yet refined driving experience. Its advanced suspension system ensures superb handling, making the DB12 a perfect match for its iconic forebears.

The DB12 Goldfinger Edition is fitted with Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art infotainment system, designed in-house to balance intuitive touchscreen controls with tactile physical switches. The system ensures that occupants experience seamless entertainment and navigation, while the Bowers & Wilkins halo audio system, included as standard, delivers a sound experience worthy of the Bond-inspired vehicle. The DB12, which debuted in 2023, is part of Aston Martin’s next generation of sports cars. It has since been joined by the new Vantage, DBX707, and the recently unveiled Vanquish. First deliveries of the DB12 Goldfinger Edition are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with prices rumoured to start around £300,000 ($391,500).
