The limited Porsche Taycan Turbo K-Edition is enveloped in Korean culture
Porsche Korea's 10th anniversary is celebrated with a Korea-exclusive Taycan Turbo K-Edition, designed in collaboration with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. SharePorsche Korea is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2024 by introducing a special limited-edition Taycan Turbo K-Edition, uniquely designed to reflect elements of Korean culture. Available exclusively in Korea, this model is a tribute to Porsche’s deep connection with its Korean customers. Created through a collaboration between the experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Porsche Korea, and the Style Porsche design department, the Taycan Turbo K-Edition combines traditional Korean cultural influences with modern elegance, resulting in a sports car with a distinct, luxurious appeal.
“The Taycan Turbo K-Edition is meant to visually represent the strong relationship between Porsche DNA and Korean culture,” says Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea. “Some of the car’s design features also showcase the extensive customisation possibilities available through the Sonderwunsch program.”
The K-Edition’s distinguishing features include a unique logo inspired by a historical Korean royal stamp and a special skyline graphic that integrates elements of Korean cities, buildings, and landscapes. These design elements are prominently featured both inside and outside the car. Inside, the vehicle showcases a three-colour-block design on the seat centre panels, along with intricately hand-crafted cross-stitching.
This special edition is built on the 2024 model year Taycan, which has been upgraded to offer more power, improved acceleration, a longer range, and faster, more stable charging speeds. The Taycan Turbo K-Edition delivers up to 650 kW (884 PS) with Launch Control and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
The logo, exclusive to the K-Edition, is modelled after a traditional royal stamp and features the name ‘Taycan’ written in traditional Korean characters. The design also incorporates a racetrack motif, symbolizing the car’s performance capabilities. This logo is hand-painted in high-gloss black on the charging port door and is embossed on the headrests and leather key holder. Historically, royal stamps were used to mark documents and books in Korea, signifying official certification by the ruler, a tradition that lends prestige to this unique edition.
Another standout feature of the K-Edition is the specially designed skyline graphic, developed in close collaboration with Porsche Korea. This graphic, which features a blend of Seoul’s cityscape, traditional hanok houses, bridges, and the Baekdu-daegan mountain range, is hand-painted on the rear spoiler and key housing. It is also milled into the front door entry guards and embossed on the leather dashboard.
Buyers can choose from five exterior colours from the Paint to Sample program: Ruby Red Metallic, Oak Green Metallic, Ipanema Blue Metallic, Macadamia Metallic, and Alex Grey. The Porsche logos on the car’s sides are colour-matched to the paint finish, and the B-pillars feature a black badge with the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur logo finished in Turbonite. The 21-inch Mission-E-style alloy wheels are another notable exterior feature, with rims painted in Turbonite and spokes finished in Satin Black.
Inside, the Taycan Turbo K-Edition boasts the luxurious Olea club leather trim in either Basalt Black or Truffle Brown, depending on the exterior colour. The interior is further enhanced with a colour-blocking design on the seat centre panels, combining Atacama Beige with Basalt Black or Truffle Brown. The Atacama Beige colour is also used for accent stitching throughout the interior, a feature that requires meticulous hand-finishing to achieve the required visual quality and symmetry.
The car’s centre console features the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur logo embossed on the storage compartment lid and a small badge with the Taycan K-Edition logo in Turbonite. LED projectors in all doors project the logo onto the floor, adding a final touch of exclusivity.
Porsche Korea has been operating since 2006, with its subsidiary, Porsche Korea Ltd., established in 2014.
