This is the new Aston Martin Vantage Roadster
The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster combines top-down luxury with a 4.0L V8 engine delivering 665PS, advanced engineering, and cutting-edge design. ShareAston Martin has expanded its lineup with the Vantage Roadster—a convertible complement to the acclaimed Vantage Coupe. Introduced in 2024, the new Vantage set a benchmark in luxury and performance. With the arrival of the Roadster, drivers gain the added thrill of open-air motoring, all while maintaining the refined dynamics and engagement for which the Coupe is celebrated.
At the heart of the Vantage Roadster lies a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, producing an impressive 665PS and 800Nm of torque. This powerhouse, paired with an eight-speed paddle-shift transmission, allows the Roadster to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 202mph. This blend of raw power and cutting-edge engineering delivers an exhilarating driving experience, enhanced further by the visceral sound of the engine and exhaust, particularly with the roof down.
The Roadster’s structure and lightweight aluminium build ensure a near-perfect 49:51 weight distribution. Advanced suspension systems, including adaptive dampers and a multi-link rear axle, provide precise handling and responsiveness. Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres, specially developed for this model, contribute to superior grip and feedback, while massive carbon-ceramic brakes ensure reliable stopping power.
The Vantage Roadster was designed alongside the Coupe, ensuring the convertible version offers uncompromised performance. Structural stiffness is maintained through innovative design solutions, including weight-optimized shear panels and a modified body attachment at the rear. Despite the absence of a fixed roof, these enhancements ensure the Roadster remains stable and dynamic, whether cruising or cornering at speed.
One of the standout features is the “Z-fold” roof mechanism. Faster and lighter than traditional designs, this system eliminates the need for a bulky tonneau cover, reducing weight and lowering the centre of gravity. The roof can be operated at speeds up to 31mph and takes just 6.8 seconds to open or close—making it the fastest automatic roof in its class. Despite its speed and simplicity, the roof features eight layers of insulation, offering a cabin experience akin to the Coupe when closed.
Aston Martin prioritized the aesthetics of the Roadster to ensure it retained the elegance and proportion of its Coupe counterpart. The Roadster’s sleek profile transitions seamlessly whether the roof is up or down. The roof folds neatly behind the seats, maintaining the car’s sculpted lines without requiring extra covers. The widened stance and enlarged signature grille, which increases airflow to the engine by 30%, remain defining elements. The Roadster introduces three new paint options—Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire, and Bronze Flare—alongside four roof colour choices. Drivers can further personalize their cars with a variety of wheel designs and brake calliper colours.
Inside, the Vantage Roadster features Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system. With a 10.25-inch Pure Black touchscreen, gesture controls, and physical switches for essential functions, the system combines modern connectivity with intuitive usability. Drivers can control various settings, from chassis dynamics to exhaust notes while staying focused on the road. Aston Martin also offers advanced audio systems tailored to the Roadster’s interior. The standard 390W 11-speaker system delivers immersive sound, while an optional Bowers & Wilkins system elevates the auditory experience, incorporating innovations from the world of high-end loudspeakers.
The Roadster continues Aston Martin’s tradition of delivering open-top driving excitement, dating back 75 years to the DB2 Drophead Coupe. This heritage is matched by cutting-edge advancements, as seen in the meticulously engineered body structure and chassis tuning specific to the Roadster. Deliveries of the Vantage Roadster will begin in Q2 2025. It joins Aston Martin’s expanding lineup, including the DB12, DB12 Volante, and DBX707.
