Touring Superleggera has unveiled an updated version of its tribute to the Ferrari 550 Maranello, delivering a highly exclusive, V12-powered grand tourer. With just five remaining from the planned production run of 30, this is a rare opportunity for collectors looking to own a modern interpretation of Ferrari’s V12 legacy.

The Veloce12 was introduced last summer as an analogue driving experience in a market dominated by high-tech supercars. Touring’s CEO Markus Tellenbach emphasized that the project was born from a desire to craft a “tuxedo on wheels” — a grand tourer that combined classic Italian styling with updated performance while maintaining the character of a traditional, naturally aspirated V12 with a manual gearbox. This approach led the team to the Ferrari 550 Maranello, a car with a strong design heritage and dynamic capabilities that made it an ideal foundation for their vision.

Pininfarina’s original work on the 550 Maranello took inspiration from some of Ferrari’s most celebrated models, including the 250 GTO, 275 GTB, and 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Touring Superleggera has built upon this legacy, integrating its own design language into the Veloce12. The most immediate change is its distinctive paintwork. The featured example wears a shade called ‘Azzurro Cielo,’ a colour deeply connected to Touring’s history. This particular blue has previously adorned models like the Alfa 8C 2900 B Lungo, Disco Volante Spyder, and Berlinetta Lusso.

The 5.5-litre V12 has undergone a full refurbishment, including improved cooling and a redesigned exhaust system developed in partnership with Supersprint. These changes have increased output from 485 to 500 horsepower while enhancing responsiveness and sound. Touring describes the exhaust modifications as “liberating” the V12, a fitting statement given the car’s performance focus.

Alongside the powertrain updates, the chassis has been reinforced for improved rigidity, and the car is now equipped with adaptive TracTive suspension. Braking performance has also been upgraded with larger Brembo brakes. These refinements allow the Veloce12 to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 199 mph.

Each Veloce12 is tailored to its owner through direct collaboration with Touring’s lead designer, Matteo Gentile, and his team. The process allows for extensive customisation, ensuring that no two cars are identical. Customers can choose between left- or right-hand drive, select from a range of bespoke interior materials, and opt for additional personalisation touches that reflect their own tastes. This means that each car requires between four to five months to complete. Half of the planned production has already been allocated to buyers in the United States, with the rest distributed across Europe, South America, and Asia. The five remaining build slots are available at a starting price of €690,000, excluding the cost of the donor Ferrari 550 Maranello.
