Auberge Resorts to Open Cambridge House: A New Luxury Stay in Mayfair
Auberge Resorts Collection will manage the historic Cambridge House in Mayfair, London, set to open in late 2025, featuring 102 rooms, a private members' club, and an Auberge Spa. ShareAuberge Resorts Collection, an award-winning portfolio of unique luxury hotels, resorts, and residences, has been chosen by Reuben Brothers, global leaders in real estate, to manage Cambridge House in Mayfair, London. This imaginative renewal of the historic property at 94 Piccadilly will provide a captivating new destination for both Londoners and international visitors. The hotel, set to open in late 2025, will introduce Auberge’s experiential luxury, exceptional service, unique dining experiences, and a destination Auberge Spa to London. The project is part of Reuben Brothers’ £1 billion regeneration of the Piccadilly Estate, including One Carrington and Shepherd Market.
Located between Green Park and Shepherd Market, the 102-room hotel, along with a private members’ club, will serve as both a retreat and social hub. Classically English yet drawing on diverse influences, it will attract guests day and night. Designers Jean-Louis Deniot and Laura Gonzalez will bring the property’s intriguing duality to life, with Deniot overseeing the hotel’s transformation and Gonzalez designing the club’s bars, dining venues, spa, and nine club rooms.
“Reuben Brothers’ vision for Cambridge House is incredibly inspiring and we are honoured to have been chosen to usher this uniquely British property into its next chapter as a luxury hotel,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman, of Auberge Resorts Collection. “Adding such an iconic Mayfair destination to our growing portfolio is also an exciting step forward in our focused expansion into Europe.”
The centrepiece of the hotel is the Grade 1-listed Georgian mansion commissioned by the 2nd Earl of Egremont in 1756. This historic building has hosted Queen Victoria, served as the proxy No.10 for PM Lord Palmerston, and housed the Duke of Cambridge and Lord Cholmondeley, as well as the Naval and Military ‘In and Out’ Club from 1865 to 1999.
“Cambridge House is one of the most exciting projects my family and I have ever brought to fruition,” said Jamie Reuben, principal, of Reuben Brothers. “Our vision for this special property is not just to offer a new destination, but a new level of hospitality and something that London has not seen before. We chose Auberge Resorts Collection for the brand’s unrivalled spirit of intention – to provide a distinct and unparalleled luxury hospitality experience.”
The dining options at Cambridge House will reflect the property’s diverse allure, allowing patrons to dine in various unique settings, including an open-air jasmine courtyard and a brasserie-style restaurant in the Georgian ballroom. An exciting culinary partnership will be announced in due course.
Inspired by Britain’s healing lore and Roman bathhouses, the double-level spa will offer Auberge’s holistic wellness experience to London. Featuring extensive hydrotherapy facilities, heated swimming pools, treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge centred by a fire pit, a gym, activity studios, and a bathhouse, the spa will encourage social connection integral to its wellness concept.
The hotel will also feature versatile event spaces, from the opulent ballroom to intimate private rooms, suitable for receptions and various events. The restaurants, bars, and private rooms will accommodate events of all sizes and concepts.
This announcement is part of Auberge Resorts Collection’s strategic expansion in urban and European markets. The brand will soon open Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection in Florence, Italy, joining existing properties in France and Greece. Additionally, new urban locations such as The Shore Club in Miami Beach, The Knox in Dallas, and The Hearst Hotel in San Francisco will also be introduced.
