Bulgari luxury hotel collection grows with new property in Shanghai
The Bulgari luxury hotel collection now counts six destinations with the opening of the new Shanghai hotel. ShareLocated in the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities, the Bulgari Hotel Shanghai blends Italian art de vivre and Chinese influences. The property encompasses a modern 48-story skyscraper and the restored historic Chamber of Commerce building. The hotel counts 82 exquisitely elegant and contemporary guest rooms, including 19 suites.
After Milan, Bali, London, Beijing and Dubai, Bulgari continues to expand its collection of luxury hotels around the world with the opening of the Bulgari Hotel Shanghai. Designed by the Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, which has designed all the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, this new address is part of the city’s Suhe Creek revitalization project.
It includes a modern 48-story skyscraper offering spectacular views of the celebrated Bund waterfront and the Pudong financial district, as well as the adjacent Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, built in 1916. The neoclassic Renaissance architecture of the building has been completely restored. The area is bordered by private Italian-style gardens hidden from outside the property, ensuring a haven of tranquility in China’s largest city.
The 63 rooms and 19 spacious suites – ranging from 50 to 400 square meters – occupy the top eight floors of the tower. Every element in the interior design reflects the Bulgari lifestyle. Italian comfort and refinement, with contemporary bespoke furniture crafted by high-end Italian brands and luxurious materials (Tuscan Calacatta marble, gleaming bronze, polished teak) feature meticulous attention to details, melded with an aesthetic that celebrates Shanghai’s rich history.
The Bulgari Hotel Shanghai offers six gourmet dining choices, including Il Ristorante on the 47th floor, directed by world renowned Michelin-star chef Niko Romito. The 2,000-square-meter Bulgari spa caters to guest well-being with eight treatment and relaxation rooms, a 25-meter indoor pool, a revitalizing hot tub and a beauty salon. Guests can also take advantage of a personal shopping service, as well as private showings of Bulgari jewelry in their suite.
Bulgari plans three more hotel openings in Moscow, the famed Golden Triangle district of Paris and Tokyo in 2019, 2020 and 2022, respectively.
