De L’Europe Amsterdam, perfectly positioned in the bustling heart of the Netherlands’ capital with picturesque views of the Amstel River, has been a top choice for the city’s elite since its opening in 1896. The hotel is segmented into different areas, each offering its unique charm. The historical Rondeel Building, dating back to the 19th century, showcases rooms that merge state-of-the-art amenities with a classic design. Conversely, the recently added ‘t Huys wing, introduced in 2022, features a collection of 14 individually tailored suites. This new section is a collective space for Amsterdam’s prominent art, style, and luxury elements.

In celebration of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, De L’Europe introduced these new suites, each crafted in collaboration with local icons and brands, offering exclusive experiences and thematic designs that echo the rich cultural fabric of Amsterdam. The Van Gogh Museum suite, realised through a unique partnership with the Van Gogh Museum, includes a private gallery that delves into Vincent van Gogh’s early works through interpretations and museum-edition reproductions of his personal letters, sketches, and belongings.

The suite designed by Dutch jeweller Bibi van der Velden stands out as well. Renowned for her innovative use of materials and shapes, van der Velden has decorated the suite with vintage furniture pieces such as Dirk van der Kooij’s melting pot table, and a dramatic ceramic necklace that decorates an entire wall. Guests of this suite are privileged to wear jewellery pieces selected by the designer throughout their stay.

The Ravestijn Gallery suite transforms the room into a private art exhibition, displaying works by contemporary photographers like Michael Bailey-Gates, Ruth van Beek, and Inez & Vinoodh. Staying here also includes a visit to the gallery where these pieces were previously exhibited. The Salle Privée suite, reflecting a retro vibe with mid-century designs and bold colours, is curated by the Amsterdam-based luxury brand known for its modernist touch. It offers guests a selection of the brand’s distinctive scents during their stay, with the option to choose a favourite to take home.

The RVDK suite, crafted by Ronald van der Kemp, the pioneer behind the world’s first sustainable couture label, features a workspace surrounded by his couture collection mood board, a bespoke art piece on the ceiling in the bedroom, and personalised fashion illustrations for guests. Designed by Sisters Janssen, their suite explores themes of connection and inclusivity, divided into ‘Mirror Of The Soul’ and ‘The Womb’. The latter is designed to evoke feelings of comfort and security with its soft padded walls and warm red colours. Film enthusiasts will appreciate the Wolfi Pictures suite, designed by Daan Schuurmans and Bracha van Doesburgh, which includes a private cinema for screenings and a stylish area that doubles as a boutique viewing space.

Dining at De L’Europe caters to diverse tastes. Flore presents Dutch seasonal cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, Trattoria Graziella offers Italian flavours, while Freddy’s Bar, named after the famed Dutch brewer, is known for its exceptional Bloody Marys along with other cocktails. Marie’s brasserie is ideal for waterfront dining.

In addition to its exquisite accommodations, De L’Europe offers extensive facilities and services. The hotel features a 4,300-square-foot spa and wellness centre, complete with an indoor pool, Turkish steam bath, Finnish sauna, and a fitness studio equipped with the latest gym apparatus, offering a wide array of bespoke beauty treatments. For those interested in culture, the hotel’s location is perfect. It is a short walk from the Museum Quarter, and guests can benefit from fast-lane access to major museums like the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk Museum. The hotel also arranges exclusive packages offering VIP entry to these cultural institutions.
