Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou will soon welcome guests to China’s ‘House of Silk’

Four Seasons announces a new luxury hotel in the heart of Hangzhou, offering a distinct and modern experience in a city rich with over 2,000 years of history. Share

In the heart of Hangzhou, a city where millennia of history converge with contemporary vibrance, the new Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre is poised to redefine luxury hospitality. Welcoming its first guests in late 2024, this urban sanctuary complements the lakeside charm of its sister property, the Four Seasons at West Lake. Positioned on the edge of Wulin Square, a bustling hub of shopping and entertainment, the hotel offers a serene escape amidst the city’s dynamic energy.

The Hangzhou Centre, a mixed-use development that includes the new Four Seasons, residences, offices, shopping, and dining, is set to be a landmark in the city’s landscape. The hotel’s strategic location provides guests with easy access to various shopping centres, the vibrant Wulin Night Market, and a plethora of restaurants and bars. Additionally, it stands opposite one of the Grand Canal’s water bus stations, offering a unique way to explore this ancient marvel. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Grand Canal dates back to the 5th century BC and spans 2,000 kilometres, playing a historic role in facilitating commerce and transport in eastern China.

The hotel’s architectural and interior design, a collaboration between Goettsch Partners, GAD, P LANDSCAPE, Avalon Collective, AB Concept, and Kokai Studio, presents a modern interpretation of classic Chinese design. The interiors feature high ceilings, abundant natural light, and panoramic views from all directions.

“As we continue to expand our diverse portfolio of Four Seasons hotels in China, we are delighted to offer a second option for both travellers and local guests in the beautiful city of Hangzhou,” says Rami Sayess, Four Seasons President, Hotel Operations – Asia Pacific.  “Here, Four Seasons will be both a serene respite from the urban excitement that surrounds it, and intrinsically connected to the business and social fabric of the city.”

The hotel’s 188 guest rooms and 26 suites, located on floors 19-29, provide sweeping views of the city, Grand Canal, and West Lake. Corner suites are particularly notable for their expansive vistas. Wellness is a key focus, with an 18th-floor spa offering six treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art gym, and a 25 x 8-meter indoor heated swimming pool that allows for “sky swimming” with panoramic city views. Several landscaped outdoor terraces on the 8th, 10th, and 30th floors offer additional spaces for dining and special events.

The hotel also caters to events and gatherings, with 2,900 square meters of indoor space, including a divisible ballroom and pre-function space, and a unique Sky Garden that accommodates up to 200 guests. This outdoor lawn and activity platform is perfect for concerts, wedding receptions, and other special events, with the creative expertise of the hotel’s events and catering teams ensuring memorable occasions.
