Mandarin Oriental is set to make a grand debut in Suzhou
Mandarin Oriental is bringing luxury to Suzhou in 2026 with a lakeside hotel blending elegance, wellness, and cityscape views. ShareMandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to manage a new luxury hotel in Suzhou, China, marking another milestone in its expansion across the Yangtze River Delta. Set to open in 2026, the hotel will offer an upscale retreat in one of China’s most historically significant cities.
Located on the east bank of Jinji Lake, the property will provide sweeping views of Suzhou’s distinctive skyline. Designed as a low-rise urban resort, guests will find themselves steps away from parks, lakeside walkways, and gardens while also having direct connections to the bustling business and retail areas. The hotel’s location places it near Suzhou’s UNESCO-listed heritage sites, further enhancing its appeal to both business and leisure travellers.
Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou will feature 146 guestrooms and suites, many with balconies offering views of the lake and city. The accommodations will reflect the brand’s signature design approach, emphasizing elegance and comfort. A range of dining venues, including three restaurants, a lounge, a bar, and a cakeshop, will provide diverse culinary options. Guests can also enjoy outdoor dining with scenic lakefront settings.
The hotel’s wellness offerings will include an extensive spa featuring Mandarin Oriental’s signature treatments, along with beauty and massage therapies. A well-equipped fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool will complement the spa facilities. For business and social events, the property will provide substantial meeting and event spaces, ensuring it serves as a key destination for corporate gatherings and celebrations. Families will also find an array of activities, with a dedicated Children’s Club offering educational, sports, and entertainment programs.
“We are delighted to be extending the Group’s presence in mainland China and to be part of this exciting development in the heart of the city’s new Central Business District. Alongside our existing property in Shanghai, and our upcoming openings in Hangzhou and Nanjing, Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou will further introduce our fans to exceptional experiences throughout the Yangtze River Delta,” said Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
