Ulyssia Residences AG Launches 320m Superyacht in Collaboration with Espen Øino
Ulyssia, the upcoming 1,063-foot residential yacht, promises to combine the best features of a superyacht, cruise ship, and luxury condominium into an unparalleled seafaring experience. ShareThe creators of the renowned 644-foot private residential yacht The World have unveiled their latest masterpiece—Ulyssia. This new 1,063-foot vessel redefines luxury living at sea, offering a blend of superyacht elegance, cruise ship amenities, and condominium comfort. Designed by acclaimed yacht designer Espen Øino, Ulyssia presents a sleek and sophisticated silhouette, making it one of the most impressive vessels on the high seas. By comparison, the 593-foot Azzam is currently the largest superyacht, while the 1,198-foot Icon of the Seas holds the title for the biggest cruise liner. Constructed with a robust steel hull and lightweight aluminium superstructure, Ulyssia will be built by the prestigious German shipyard Meyer Werft.
The interiors, envisioned by Italian firm FM Architettura, will meet “five-star luxury hotel specifications.” The yacht will feature 132 private residences, ranging from approximately 1,216 square feet to over 10,000 square feet. Additionally, Ulyssia will offer 22 guest suites for hosting friends, family, or distinguished guest speakers. The yacht’s interior also boasts a theatre, a library, an indoor pool, an art studio, and a resident’s garage for personal toys. The exterior decks will feature multiple lounges, several pools, and a helipad with two resident helicopters. Ulyssia will also include a yacht club, marina, dive centre, padel and pickleball courts, and a fleet of high-speed electric tenders.
For culinary enthusiasts, Ulyssia will house multiple restaurants helmed by both celebrated and emerging guest chefs. A gourmet market will provide local produce sourced from the yacht’s various cruising locations. Additionally, a well-stocked wine cellar will cater to the tastes of oenophiles.
These residences will include stunning penthouses and family duplexes, each with one to six bedrooms, elegant reception rooms, open-plan kitchens, private terraces, and panoramic ocean views. Owners can select from one of eight pre-designed layouts or personalize their interiors with their own design team. The renowned Swiss wellness company Chenot will oversee health and wellness activities on board, featuring a spa, fitness centre, and a medical facility equipped with the latest technology, including X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds.
In terms of performance, Ulyssia will be equipped with hybrid propulsion systems and will operate on methanol and other biofuels when possible to minimize emissions. Plans also include the use of batteries and solar power. The yacht will navigate from chic ports to iconic cities and remote destinations, with EYOS Expeditions partnering to create unique excursions for guests.
“The concept behind Ulyssia is, quite simply, travelling the world from the comfort of your home. Every day, you go out and you explore these magnificent destinations all over the globe, but you come home to familiarity, to people who know who you are, who know what your needs are and how to take care of all your preferences,” Ulyssia Residences AG CEO Alain Gruber explained.
While Ulyssia is not the first residential superyacht concept—other examples include the 948-foot Njord, the 728-foot Somnio, and the 753-foot Narrative—it stands out due to the experienced team behind it, who have a proven track record with The World. They aim to create “the world’s most exclusive residential yacht community,” committed to environmental conservation and cultural preservation projects to positively impact every destination.
Owners will be offered a 50-year transferable and renewable lease, with annual fees estimated at 3 to 3.5 per cent of the purchase price. The exact cost of the residences has not been disclosed. Construction on Ulyssia is slated to begin this year, with delivery expected in October 2028.
